Epee Hitmate Set
The Epee Hitmate brings a new freedom to fencing practice. With the electric weapon plugged into a small unit held in the pocket of your fencing pants, there is no need for cumbersome spools and floor cables. Hits are indicated on a separate floor console receiver.
The Hitmate allows a fencing club to use it as an “insta strip”, saving hours of setup and teardown time at the beginning and end of fencing practices. Priced at below $400, this is the perfect system for electric epee practice for the club that uses mixed-use facilities, or wishes to quickly utilize extra strip space for electric fencing.
Hitmate implements all the timing conventions for lockout, simultaneous hits and debounce periods, and does not indicate a hit when the weapon tip makes a touch to the opponent’s guard or a metal piste.
The set consists of two transmitting units and one receiver. Each fencer plugs their weapon into a transmitting unit which can then be put into the breeches pocket. The floor-standing receiver Console is placed on the floor.
The Console listens to radio signals from the Hitmate units and flashes red or green score lights whenever a hit is made. There’s also an audible signal.
For near-simultaneous hits occurring within a twenty-fifth of one second, the Console resolves the timing and displays Red, Green or both score lights to announce the result.
